International Virtual Conference “Legal Challenges in the Digital Era”
On 8-9 April 2021, the Department of Criminal Law, Faculty of Law, of Tirana University organises, in collaboration with the Security, Technology and e-Privacy (STeP) Research group of the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen (the Netherlands), Centro Studio, Alta Formazione e Ricerca Italo-Albanese del CEMAS, Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy) and the Faculty of Security and Investigation of the Academy of Security (Albania), an inernational conference titled “Legal Challenges in the Digital Era”.
Technology developments and digitisation have shaken the established national and international legal regime in profound ways and affect current and future laws and policies. What seemed certain or predictable is called into question. New challenges and opportunities arise. The conference theme has attracted participants from different backgrounds and jurisdictions to consider the present and future challenges that technological developments create for the legal system(s).
The conference features more than 45 paper presentations in 12 parallel sessions covering various topics that discuss legal problems we face in the Digital Era from various angles:
