Call for application: Summer School on Cultural Heritage Enhancement

The Summer School “Cultural Heritage Enhancement”, organised in collaboration with the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and the University of Caxia do Sul (Rio Grande-Bra), aims to provide students with knowledge on the enhancement of cultural heritage and their relationship with the real economy by using the most recent methodologies in this field.

Culture has become an indispensable resource for tourism innovation, just as tourism has proved to be a possible channel for financing and disseminating culture itself. New cultural practices are one of the many consequences of the emergence of a broader definition of heritage.

This intensive course is directed to people interested in developing professionalism in the field of planning and assessing the impact of economic and social policies for the enhancement of cultural heritage and of the territory through the use of methodologies (such as that of Big data). During the Summer School, the students will contribute to the creation of a digital platform concerning the territory of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), particularly with respect to Italian migrant entrepreneurs who have contributed, through their work, to the development of the territories in which they settled; the development of such territories represents a heritage in terms of knowledge and economic and social enrichment.

The deadline for the application is scheduled for August 30, 2019.

Scholarships are provided to partially reimburse the registration fee for the first enrolled students.
